Il GaudĂ Exhibition Center

The GaudĂ Exhibition Center is a permanent exhibition dedicated to the brilliant Catalan architect: it offers a unique collection of objects and documents by Antoni GaudĂ, as well as a research center dedicated to works, life and his working method. The center is located inside the Pia Almoina, the ancient rectory of the Barcelona Cathedral in the Gothic style of the fifteenth century and home to the Diocesan Museum.

The permanent exhibition: Strolling with GaudĂ

The GaudĂ Exhibition Center hosts a permanent exhibition dedicated to GaudĂ: starting from the revolutionary ideas of the Catalan architect, the exhibition delves into the explanation of his innovative working methods, which allowed him to become the universal genius known today. The artistic spirit, respect for tradition, craftsmanship and scientific precision are explained step by step, in a path that combines original documents and models with audiovisual installations, holograms and sets.

With a small additional cost of € 2 it is possible to experience a virtuous reality by visiting the crypt of the Colonia Güell. The entire route can be visited with the support of an audio guide in Italian, included in the admission price.

La Pia Almoina

The Pia Almoina houses both the Gaudí Exhibition Center and the Diocesan Museum, and was the ancient seat of the Rectory of the Cathedral, built in place of some pre-existing medieval buildings. It is a building consisting of two sections: one Gothic, with the entrance to the Plaça de la Seu and built around 1435, and the other of the Renaissance period, located next to the first and added around 1546.
